one in a thousand bad luck

An Aeroflot Airbus is crushed into the ices of Siberia. There are no survivors.

Investigators are puzzled to hear the voices of children on the cockpit voice recorder (CVR). They are shocked to hear the children being allowed to operate the plane.

But are the teenagers of Captain Kudinski the only ones responsible for the crash?

Find it out here.

This is one of those productions of western media that give the impression (right or wrong) that they have still not been able to come out of their cold war hatred of Russia and Russians, or of non-westerners as a whole. This is the only episode of Air Crash Investigation that I watched where they spend the first 10-12 minutes talking about things not relevant with the crash. They speak tauntingly about Russia’s attempts to reach up to modern standards. The commentator says about Russian pilots, “they’re well conversant in English, they wear special uniforms and live lives of such luxury that few Russians can think of,” as if trying to say in between the lines “although they were previously too proud of Mother Russia to learn another language,” or as if westerns live in utter modesty and humility.

So does media do more harm than good? I would like to know what everyone thinks about it, but my debaters won this debate from the Opposition Bench.

"Kid in the Cockpit" is an episode of "Air Crash Investigation".

"Air Crash Investigation" is a National Geographic Channel documentary and is one my favourite TV programs.
